Former Interludes Hotel in Scarborough to be converted into house
and live on Freeview channel 276
Dean Bonsor applied to the council for a change of use for the Interludes Hotel in Princess Street.
The five-storey property was originally a large dwellinghouse before being converted into a guest house by the previous owners in 1994.

Hide AdThe officer’s report granting planning permission for the change of use noted: “The initial submission did not include a justification statement; following discussions with the applicant, they were unable to provide accounts and occupancy data, but indicated that anecdotally, the property appeared run down and did not look operational, and that neighbours had stated that there had been very few visitors in recent years.
“The applicants have provided a statement to describe the general standard of accommodation, which they believe is substandard.
“In this instance, it is considered that the details provided, taken in good faith, appear to demonstrate that overall standard of accommodation in this particular premise is substandard and is unable to meet the broader needs that would be expected within a modern hotel.”
No objections were received during the public consultation.
