Filey Surgery staff say thank you for donations
One area in particular where the local community has excelled has been in the creation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff.
Visors have been produced by David Chamberlain and Ben Shepherd, and local lady Carol Gregory has been producing scrub trousers for Dr Shepherd and colleague Dr Anna Black.

Hide AdDr Shepherd said: “We’ve had a tremendous response from the local community.
“We needed surgical scrubs. We don’t want to go home in the things we’ve been working in.
“We want things that we can hot-wash and shove on for a day.
“They’re simple, efficient, reusable clothing.
“Dr Black’s even have a coloured pocket, PPE can be quite scary for kids.”

He added, though, that their waistlines may be under threat: “We shall all be obese there are so many cakes and things people have brought us.”
