Dara's Charity Chop: Scarborough boy raises more than £1,000 for good cause
Six-year-old Dara Whitefield from Cayton has finally had his locks chopped after having long hair for most of his life.
He decided earlier this year to get the haircut and raise money for charity at the same time.

Martin House provides family-led care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. They support families from across Yorkshire.
The fundraiser has so far raised £1,188, more than double the initial target.
Mum Siobhan said: “It’s crazy! We set a target of £500 thinking ‘oh we might get it’ and we hit that in about 18 hours from friends, family and classmates. I’m really pleased.”

Dara said: “I just thought my friend has a good haircut that I wanted; but then I heard of a charity which I wanted to raise money for and that I could send my hair to.”
Dara, who was quite nervous about the upcoming haircut, had his hair trimmed and styled in the garden of the family home last week.
