Letter: Surprised at news of regional powerhouse proposal
I read, and I quote 'The leaders of 18 out of 20 Yorkshire councils have submitted a '˜concrete proposal' for a major devolution deal that they hope will turn the historic county into a 21st century regional powerhouse.'
This is news to me and I think to the majority of people in the region.
Whilst I am all in favour of an independent Yorkshire, can’t we get over the shambles of Brexit first before we put a referendum vote to the populace.
Come on councillors, are we going to have a referendum to withdraw from the UK or not?
Or are we to remain in the hinterland of confusion?
