Whitby actor Samuel Barnett is once again receiving rave reviews for his performances on Broadway.

The 33-year-old actor, whose family still live in Hinderwell, is treading the boards at the Belasco Theatre in New York as part of a Shakespeare double header of Richard III and Twelfth Night.

The former Oakridge, Caedmon and Whitby Community College pupil plays the parts of Elizabeth Woodville and Viola in the two productions and is joined on the stage by QI host Stephen Fry in his Broadway debut.

Reviewer Matthew Murray has described Samuel as “outstanding” in his two female roles.
