X Factor’s Gary Barlow to play Futurist gig

TAKE That star and X Factor Judge Gary Barlow will be lighting up the stage at the Futurist Theatre this January.

Due to phenomenal demand, the star has added an extra eight January dates to his UK tour including a third Manchester and London show as well as a date at the Futurist Theatre in Scarborough on Saturday 19 January.

The tour which started last week in Bournemouth, sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale last month and follows his two critically acclaimed solo shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London last year.

The extra January dates see Gary head to Aberdeen, Glasgow, Leicester, Southend, London, Brighton, and Scarborough before culminating with a show at Manchester O2 Apollo on Sunday 20 January.

He said: “I’m really excited about these dates.

“Playing live is my favorite thing and I haven’t played a solo show for over a year now.

“Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought right let’s get out and see the rest of the country.”

After 20 years in the business, over 50 million records sold, eight No 1 albums, fourteen No 1 singles, seven million concert tickets sold and six Ivor Novello Awards, Gary Barlow is regarded as one of Britain’s most successful singer songwriters.

Together with Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams he is also a member of one of the biggest British bands of all time - Take That.

Gary was recently named in the Queen’s birthday honours list and was awarded an OBE for his huge contribution to British music as well as his significant charitable endeavours.

He recently organised the hugely successful Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace, gathering together some of the biggest names from the last 60 years to perform including: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Robbie Williams, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Shirley Bassey, and Grace Jones.

Gary currently sits as head judge on ITV’s The X Factor for the second year running.

In 2000, Gary made his acting debut in the ITV1’s drama Heartbeat set in Goathland.

Gary Barlow is appearing at Scarborough Futurist Theatre on Saturday 19 January 2013 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are strictly limited to four per person. Seats are priced £55, £45 and £35.
