The band’s first theatre tour, Behind Bars Tour, sold out within weeks of going on sale in 2011.

The single Glad You Came taken from the band’s second album Battleground topped the singles chart for two weeks in the UK and for five weeks in Ireland. The band has recently won the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Favourite Breakout Artist.

Tickets priced at £32.50 will go on sale in person at The Sands offices, Peasholm Gap, North Bay, Scarborough, from 9am on Saturday 26 January giving local residents the chance to buy tickets before general sale release.

They will also be available from tourist information centres in Whitby.

Tickets will go on general sale from 10am, Saturday 26 January from Ticketmaster and Arena Ticket Shop.

The Wanted is the fourth act to be secured for the summer season at the venue following recent announcements of Leona Lewis (12 July), Status Quo (27 July) and McFly (30 August).
