Whitby Music Centre hopes its special Christmas Concert will serve to get the town into the festive mood this month.
The two-and-a-half hour concert will feature all of the centre’s ensembles, including a 50-piece concert band, a 40-piece junior concert Band and a choir and string group.
The music presented encompasses almost every genre of music imaginable – from film themes, to jazz, to folk, to Christmas classics – so there’s sure to be a little something for everybody from these highly accomplished local musicians.
Bob Butterfield, who runs the Whitby Music Centre, said: “We’ve been going for 12 years now, and we always have a good sized audience at our events, mainly due to the fact that family members and friends of the musicians who are playing come to listen.
“However, it would be nice to reach a wider local audience interested in live music.”
The Christmas Concert takes place at the Whitby Pavilion on Wednesday 14 December.
Tickets are £6 each, or £3 for children.
