Folk star Eliza to play at Whitby Community College

WHITBY Community College is preparing to open its doors to a very special guest when Roboin Hood’s Bay folk legend Eliza Carthy and her band play a live gig.

Musician, singer, producer, twice a Mercury Music Prize nominee and winner of BBC Radio 2 Folk awards ‘best album’ and ‘best traditional track’ for 2010, Eliza Carthy is one of the UK’s pre-eminent modern musicians.

This event, on Friday 6 May, is to help raise money to get the college’s stage restored.

The gig starts at 7pm and includes special guests from the college.
