Top singer-songwriter Plan B will play a major outdoor gig in spectacular 8,600 acre Dalby Forest, near Pickering, next summer, as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music programme.
The popular recording artist (real name Ben Drew) will follow in the footsteps of star-name musicians like Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker, The Beautiful South and Erasure who have all played the stunning rustic venue.
Forestry Commission Live Music is an independent programme bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship.
Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife.
Paul Cody, local concert organiser for the Forestry Commission, said: “We are committed to bringing new acts to play in Dalby and reaching out to different audiences.
“We have had huge demand for concert tickets over recent years and we are confident Plan B will be another top seller.”
Capacity for the gig on Saturday 30 June 2012 will be set at 5,000 people.
Tickets went on sale on Friday.
