The latest Whitby Goth Weekender takes place next month and bang smack in the middle of it is a Saturday afternoon comedy show at The Resolution Hotel.
The Skinner Street venue is an established part of the biannual Goth festival but several stars had to come into alignment for this gig to happen and align they did.
A chance Facebook conversation between Resolution manager Andy Delahunty and his former Mansfield103.2fm radio colleague Paul B Edwards, a comedian and promoter, led to Paul getting in touch with Leeds-based comedian Silky.
He suggested Paul contact fellow performers Owen Niblock and Bethany Black, both of whom were additionally huge fans of Goth music.
Half an hour later they had all agreed to do a show together on the Saturday afternoon because they wanted to see the bands that were playing at night in the town.
The result is a fabulous bill of comedy for just £5 advance ticket or £7 on the day, subject to availability.
Doors open at 1.30pm and the show starts at 2.30pm so there’s plenty of time to have lunch in The Res first before heading on upstairs to the newly refurbished ballroom.
The show should be finished by around 5pm.
Tickets will go on sale on Hallowe’en from the main bar in the venue.
The WGW Afternoon Comedy Club is on Saturday 3 November, doors open 1.30pm for a 2.30pm start.
