Comedian Rich Hall back on road to Spa

Comedian Rich Hall is back on the road this spring and heading to Scarborough Spa to perform his brand new show.

Rich is star of the critically acclaimed BBC 4 documentaries Rich Hall’s Inventing The Indian, Rich Hall’s Continental Drifters, Rich Hall’s The Dirty South, How The West Was Lost  plus the soon to be screened documentary Rich Hall’s You can go to hell, I’m going to Texas and will bring his show An Evening With Rich Hall to the venue on Tuesday 17 March.

As a regular member on Channel 4’s topical late night show Stand Up For The Week and numerous appearances on BBC1’s Live At The Apollo and BBC2’s QI, Rich Hall’s renowned grouchy, deadpan style has established him as a master of absurdist irony and king of rapid-fire wit.

In this brand new show fans can see the comic genius from Montana discuss a variety of topics all delivered in his own hilarious unique way.

Since appearing in the guise of his redneck alter-ego Otis Lee Crenshaw in 1998, award-winning Rich has won critical acclaim across the Globe by performing to sell-out audiences on countless UK tours, the Edinburgh Fringe and comedy festivals worldwide.

Other television appearances include Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The O2, Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive (BBC4), Rich Hall’s Gone Fishing (BBC4), Otis Lee Crenshaw – London Not Tennessee (BBC2) and Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2).

Other strings to his bow include writing for The David Letterman Show, which he won two Emmy’s for and was the inspiration behind Matt Groening’s character Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons.

Rich was born in Alexandria, Virginia and grew up in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and is part Cherokee.

Early in his career, he performed as a street comedian with a suitcase and stand, travelling the college circuit, and performing impromptu skits for gathering crowds.

Rich is also an accomplished author and has written three books, Magnificent Bastards, I Blame Society and Things Snowballs.

He has also released two stand-up DVD’s in 2001 and 2009 through Universal Pictures UK.

Rich Hall is performing at Scarborough Spa on Tuesday 12 March at 8pm.
