Matt said: “This is an amazing opportunity and I am really looking forward to getting started.

“My entry included pictures of snowboarders performing tricks at a snowsports event at SNO!zone Castleford called Who’s Afraid of the Park?

“I really enjoy snowboarding so to be able to work in the industry would be amazing, I’m hoping this will help me to get a foot in the door into the snow sports world.”

The Sneaton snapper will now work with the SNO!zone Castleford events team to photograph their biggest events, including Burton Hi5 and their own event, SNO!storm.

Matt, who studies photography at Sheffield Hallam University, will be mentored by industry-leading professionals and his work will feature in SNO!zone national marketing campaigns.

He has also won a year’s free slope pass and £200 worth of camera equipment.

Philippa Sharpe, events co-ordinator, said: “Matt is a talented photographer and we are very happy to be offering him a year’s internship with our team.

“This unique opportunity will enable Matt to be involved in leading industry events and campaigns and to get a window into the world of the UK snowsports scene.”
