DANCE fever hit Whitby primary schools at two festivals organised by the Ryedale and Whitby School Sport Partnership.
The children took part in a variety of music and dance workshops and rehearsals before their big moment, an afternoon performance to an audience of their family and friends.
Children from Danby, Lealholm, Glaisdale, Egton, Stakesby, Goathland, East Whitby, Sleights, Fylingdales, Ruswarp, Oakridge, Airy Hill and West Cliff schools took part in the events hosted by Caedmon School and Eskdale School last month.
Caroline Watson from the Ryedale and Whitby School Sports Partnership said: “A large amount of hard work and organisation by many individuals had gone into the event.
“It was a true delight to observe the final performance and to see how professional, committed and enthused the pupils were.
“It was a real pleasure to work with all of the children involved.
“The children and staff did a fantastic job of remembering the routines they’d learnt and rehearsed months before, meaning that the end events ran smoothly with the help of the Caedmon and Eskdale School Young Leaders.
“They did an outstanding job supporting, encouraging and leading the primary children during the event.”
Prior to the events, dance instructors Anna Wragg, of Dance Expression, and Sioned Allen, of Dance Tastic, delivered eight weekly sessions in each of the schools.
