The latest offering from the Inspired by… Gallery at The Moors National Park Centre in Danby, brings together Les Packham MBE and David Allen – two outstanding painters from the Fylingdales Group of Artists.
Founded in 1925 by prominent artists of the time, the Fylingdales Group of Artists share a love of Yorkshire and its coastline.
Les Packham is a self-taught artist, painting mainly in watercolours, but has also expanded into oils.
His subjects include coastal and marine subjects and he remains constantly inspired by the changing light and atmosphere of the Yorkshire landscape.
David Allen started work in oils, but after being presented with a gift of pastels, has continued his work in this medium.
His paintings have centred on the east coast of Yorkshire from Flamborough to Saltburn and have also included the Dales.
He enjoys painting on-site and can capture the intense and variable colours that his subjects display.
Three Media Two Artists begins on 19 October and runs to 21 November. It features stunning portraits of the landscapes and nature of the North York Moors in watercolours, oils and pastels.
The public can meet the artists on 22 October from 11am to 4pm.
The gallery is open daily from 10am to 5pm in October and 11am to 4pm in November.
Entry is free.
