THE BRAM Stoker International Film Festival is offering free tickets to a top show for those individuals who represent the best Whitby has to offer.
The Bram Stoker Community Spirit awards hope to encourage community cohesion and raise the self-esteem of Whitby youngsters and organiser Mike McCarthy said: “We will be interested in young people who have offered an ongoing commitment, concluding in positive behavioural change within the family, community or society.
“Research has shown unemployment, low self-esteem and boredom is linked to crime and anti-social behaviour in certain age groups.
“Volunteering could in many ways redress the balance and make a contribution to the society of Whitby.”
To reward youngsters the festival is offering 50 free tickets to the performance of A Vampire’s Tale on Hallowe’en night during next October’s film festival.
The performance will be the first time it has been seen in Europe.
