Whitby Soul Weekender cancelled - here's what's happening with your tickets
The hugely popular Whitby Soul Weekender will not take place this year.
All tickets for the scheduled July event have been transferred to next year’s weekender which will take place at Whitby Pavilion from Friday July 2, until the small hours of Monday July 5, 2021.
Due to the cancellation of this year’s Soul Weekender, an extra day has been added to this year’s Motown and Northern Soul Weekender which is scheduled to take place at Whitby Pavilion between September 11 to 13 this year.
Organisers Gold Soul said: "Regretfully, the July event has been cancelled due to latest Government guidelines.
"Although it has been suggested that bars/restaurants may be opening in July, local hotels have indicated they will stay closed.
"As you can imagine, this is a very trying time in the events sector and we are working hard to ensure safety guidelines are being met while anxious to please customers who are passionate about the long-running event.
"Whitby Pavilion is the home to Yorkshire’s original Soul Weekend since 2002 and we sincerely hope to see you soon once it’s safe to do so.
"For now, stay well, stay safe, feel good."
If you are holding a July 2020 ticket or online booking, you are automatically transferred to July 2-4, 2021. Your booking for July 2021 will be honoured.
There will be limited availability for July 2021 which is on sale now.
September 11-13 Motown and Northern Soul Weekender is still on at this time. An extra day of Northern and Modern Soul (Sunday) only has been added.
Tickets are still on sale. Sources have indicated that September is a more favourable start month in the town.
