Scarborough Community Choir concert dates
The concert will consist of a selection of Gershwin songs including They All Laughed and They Can’t Take That Away From Me from the Hollywood musical Shall We Dance, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue will be played by Frank James and the orchestra, led by Paul de Villuenova, will perform Promenade.
The second half of the concert will consist of a staged performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury with local soloists, including Tim Tubbs as the judge, Lesley Machen as Angelina (the plaintiff) and Hilary Watts as Edwin (the defendant).

Hide AdMembers of the choir will take the parts of Bridesmaids and the Jury. Hilary Watts and Chris Gray are solicitors, Tim Tubbs’ brother is a solicitor and Bill Scott’s wife, Anita, is also a solicitor so the legal profession is well represented.
This concert has been supported by Mrs Anne Tubbs.
Tickets are £5 and are available from choir members and on the door.
The choir sings at Queen Street Methodist Church on Wednesday March 16 at 7.30pm. The choir will sing a variety of songs including two of The Seekers hits, I’ll Never Find Another You and The Carnival is Over, a medley of Cole Porter songs and Agnus Dei. Tickets on door.
The choir will be performing its annual concert at South Cliff Methodist Church on Monday June 6at 7.45pm.
