Cloughton's acoustic picnic in aid of MacMillan planned to go-ahead

Organiser of the Macmillan Acoustic Picnic Music Festival Cloughton David Ward is determined the event will go ahead.

The music jamboree is planned for Newlands Cottage Paddock, Newlands Cottage, Newlands Road, Cloughton, for Sunday August 2 from 1pm to 7.30pm.

There will two stages and will be ran by Scarborough firm P&L Sound and Lighting with Alexa De Strange lead vocalist Francesca Santamaria and James ‘Fergie’ Ferguson announcing this year’s acts.

Among those appearing are 80s stars Mark Shaw, Jerico Acoustic and Owen Paul.

The Blackheart Orchestra, country music star Jade Helliwell and rock band Blue Nation hailing from Birmingham will also play.

Rachel Croft., the Doonan Brothers, local singer Dani Recchi, Lottie Holmes and Lady Buds are also on the bill.

They will also be "one very special guest heading up from South London who will play a few songs for us," said .

There will be a bar and cocktails stretching 30 foot long. Festival food with Lottie Holmes Vegan Cakes, fresh baked oven-fired pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, crepes, milkshake bar and a pop up music shop. Festival face painting, luxury loos and free (field) parking nearby
