Painters from across the Whitby area will unveil their latest work at an annual exhibition in the town.
The show runs from tomorrow to 10 May at Pannett Art Gallery, while a preview will be held tonight at 7.30pm.
More than 90 artist are taking part and the majority of the work on display are paintings, oils, watercolours and acrylics ranging in style from the purely representative to the abstract.
There is also some glasswear on display.
Artist Mike Wiggins told the Whitby Gazette: “The collection represents the work of many local amateurs as well as professional artists, some of them are nationally known.
“Many of the amateurs attend paintings groups run by our professionals who generously give of their time to instruct and advise.
“Beginners who are always welcome, find these sessions particularly useful, as are the monthly demonstrations held every second Wednesday of the month at Sneaton Castle by visiting artists. “All these influences come together in this exhibition.”
Every year, the Whitby Art Society helps a student from Whitby Community College with the cost of art materials and this year’s beneficiary is Sophie Fields.
