Yorkshire CCC stars help raise £6,500 at annual Sport Mulgrave dinner

The Raithwaite Estate again hosted their annual fundraising dinner for Sport Mulgrave - with over £6,500 raised on the night.

Yorkshire players Gary Ballance, Matthew Fisher and Matthew Waite were in attendance at the evening, that was filled with a Q&A and stories from playing for England, the Ashes and making debuts at 15 years of age.

The main fundraising event of the evening was the auction of promises, raising in excess of £4,000.

The prizes that had been kindly donated ranged from a luxury stay in a holiday home to hampers of wine.

The total funds raised to date is over £6,500 and will be used to contribute to ongoing projects, enabling the teams to continue playing to a very high standard.

Dougie Raine, chairman of Sport Mulgrave said: “We can’t thank Raithwaite enough for all of their help and support over the last year, including their sponsoring of our overseas cricketer.

“We are also overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests, including Mulgrave Estate and the Hart Inn, Sandsend, for making the whole evening a huge success.”
