The hosts had a very strong first half, passing was accurate and the movement on and off the ball was fast-paced.

Whitby had some very early opportunities to strike against Stokesley’s keeper, however she was very skillful and was able to save several goals.

Zara Noble stepped in as Whitby’s centre midfield and was changing the direction of play very well, keeping the girls in a strong formation.

Left-midfielder Dannielle Walker passed to Lisette Vincent-Jones, who was able to carry the ball to Whitby’s attacking zone where she found Emily Webster open to receive the ball and she opened the scoring.

The game continued well for Whitby, Emma Raw played a very strong game, she made accurate tackles and fought hard for every ball.

She worked well with left defence Jess Hogarth, the pair kept away any balls Stokesley tried to work down the left midfield.

Webster was able to secure a 2-0 lead for the home side at half-time.

The second half continued at a past face, both teams were working hard to intercept the balls.

Stokesley found a few opportunities to have a strike on Whitby’s goal, however, Siobhan Robinson and keeper Ruth Ashley cleared these balls well.

Siobhan Robinson was taking very fast hit-outs finding right defender Jo Braithwaite in great space to receive these balls and send them down the right wing to Millie Storr.

The latter and Natasha Kent worked well together carrying the ball down to Webster, who was able to score a further three goals.

Jaz Parks banged in Whitby’s sixth goal to round off the scoring.

Whitby were delighted to make sure of the win in their last home league game of this season and would like to thank their club sponsors, The Dolphin Hotel and Whitby Rotary Club for their support throughout the campaign.
