Scalby Tennis Club kick off new junior coaching programme

Scalby Tennis Club's new junior coaching programme on Monday May 9 for children aged from 5 to 15.

The club is also launching one of the latest fitness crazes, Cardio-Tennis, which offers a great workout while learning or renewing some basic tennis skills.

The sessions are at the Scalby Road club on Friday nights, 6pm - 7pm, and are open to anyone over the age of 14 for a small charge.

Cardio-Tennis coach Jackie Speakman said: "Sessions are made up of players of mixed ability and you will get the appropriate workout for your ability and fitness level.

"The use of mini orange tennis balls equalises the playing field and ensures a great workout while also learning a new skill and training for tennis."

The coaching for junior members of the club is Mondays 4.30pm - 5.30pm, divided into five to eight years and eight to 10 years with coaches Jackie Speakman and Oliver Hillier, and on Tuesdays (starting on May 10) 4.30pm to 5.30pm for 10 to 15-year-olds.
