Whitby RUFC are holding a 24-hour game of touch rugby

Starting on Saturday at 9pm and running until 9pm on Sunday, the club are hosting the event with the aim of raising funds towards purchasing much-needed equipment and kit for the forthcoming season.

Club manager Pete Stentiford said: “It’s going to be a very long day but it will be helpful for the players in terms of their pre-season fitness work.

“Our junior section are coming up to join in the fun at 11am and our ladies are getting involved at 6pm.

“We are hoping that a few people who have not tried rugby before come and try it or even just to watch.”

Touch rugby is a non-contact sport and players of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and join in on the day with no previous experience needed.
