FYLINGDALES Cricket Club had the pleasure of the company of Bob Taylor, the former Derbyshire and England record-breaking wicketkeeper at their recent awards evening at the Victoria Hotel, Robin Hood’s Bay.
Prior to presenting the annual awards, Mr Taylor - who was accompanied by his wife Cathy - spoke at length about his experiences as an England Test player and the characters and legends with whom he played including Sir Ian Botham and Geoffrey Boycott.
Fylingdales CC secretary Philip Dunn said: “The audience was so fortunate to be able to listen to a former great cricketer once described by Sir Vivien Richards as one of the finest wicket-keepers ever to pull on a pair of gloves.
“His reputation was worldwide”
The club expesses its thanks to its sponsors for making the evening possible and a success.
