Darlington’s Davey Turnbull nets top weights for the WSAA League season
For the three-hour evening match the NWesterly winds 18-24mph, 0°C with the wind chill felt like -4°C, definitely the coldest night to date.
Fishing the last 2½hrs of ebb, the long distance [polar] Northerly ground swell, thick with colour, 8-13ft was surging, as bays emptied and then flooded back. One minute stood in ankle deep water, the next waist deep.

Hide AdLate to the scales Davey Turnbull, Darlington, laden with fish topped the scales with both Heaviest Bag of Fish 26lb 6oz (8 codlings) and Heaviest Fish, a spragg of 7lb 10½oz.
A remarkable achievement in such conditions.
These weights are now the best of the season to date, something for members to better for a trophy at the end of the season.
