IAN Wiggins won Whitby Golf Club’s 36-hole scratch Stein Trophy for the second time on Sunday with a score of 147 (71 & 76).
Colin Upton was second with 149 (75 & 74) and Kieran Noble third on 154 (75 & 79).
Other scores: 158 Sam Wiggins; 161 Richard Brown; 162 Paul Ventress, Martin Shackleton.
The Junior Stein Trophy was played in conjunction with the adult competition and Mike Coates continued his domination of the junior season with a score of 166 (82 & 84).
Earlier in the week, Kieran Noble won the Midweek Stableford with 43 points, ahead of Mike Atack, Steve Foster, Paul Ventress and Mike Coates on 42.
Robin Sisson and Peter C Brown had 41, with Adam Lyth, Peter Easton and Andy Lawler on 40.
Saturday’s Stableford was won by Colin Rutland with a score of 41 points, from Bob Scott and Richard Appleton on 40. Craig Thompson, Mike Rothwell, Mike Kilpatrick and Mel Purvis had 39, Tam McConville had 38 and Robin Sisson, Billy Hardy, Graham Bedford and Stev Parkin had 37.
In the ladies’ competitions Sally Harker won the RNLI Medal with 71 ahead of Susan Bennison on 73, Mandy Coates on 74 and Barbara Mahan on 79. Karen Fellows had 80 and Jean Jefferson 81.
In the September, Par Mandy Coates produced an excellent score of 5 up to win the competition. Wendy Hurworth was second with 3 up and Karen Fellows also beat the card with 1 up. Sally Harker was 2 down, Sue Dryden 3 down and Kate Bradley 4 down.
There is a Texas Scramble on Saturday (29 Sep). On Sunday, it is the Matchplay Finals day and a Greensomes Medal for those not involved in the finals. There is a Midweek Stableford on Wednesday 3 October.
The first event in the Scarborough & District Winter Alliance takes place at Driffield on Saturday (29 Sep).

Reserves: Robin Sisson, Dave Parry. The Alliance Committee is very concerned about the speed of play in the Alliance meetings and urges all golfers to keep up with the game in front and play without undue delay. Marshalls will be on the course in each event to help keep play moving.
The ladies’ section is staging a fashion show in conjunction with Spantons on Monday 15 October.
Tickets are priced at £4 and are available from committee members. The event is taking place in the clubhouse from 10.30am.
Peter Turnbull was the winner of £100 in this week’s 200 Club draw.
All juniors are reminded that junior coaching has finished for this season and will resume next May.
