Whitby Golf Club wants to recruit members with new lifestyle and introductory membership packages launched on May 1.
It is hoped that these will attract those who are either new to golf or who cannot commit to playing several times a week.
Kevin Ing, Director of Marketing, said the key objectives of the new packages were to make golf membership at Whitby both more flexible and affordable with annual rates starting from just £253.
The new schemes are also designed to allow new members to obtain a handicap and play in selected club competitions.
“You can become a member of this idyllic Yorkshire Coast club for just £253 and top it up with additional rounds at discounted rates” said Kevin.
“We are a local club and it is important for new members to know they will get both a warm welcome and good value for money.”
Kevin added that people can be a bit cautious about joining a golf club.
There is a perception that this is a rich man’s sport, but that this is most definitely not the case at Whitby. It is a local club for local people with active men’s and ladies sections offering competitions on a variety of days including evenings and weekends.
All new members will be welcomed by our PGA Professional Tony Mason and club captains Byron Blessed and Amanda Ing. This will enable them to be able to get playing on the course and obtain their handicap.
However, if new members want to play their golf with friends on a more casual basis these new schemes will also suit them perfectly.
The clubhouse has an excellent catering and bar franchise 19@whitbygolf club run by Bob Scott and his team. This is a great place to have refreshments either before or after your round and Bob also hosts a number of social events throughout the year.
A variety of membership schemes are on offer - academy, silver, gold and platinum - with the different options designed to suit people’s needs.
