One of the biggest events in the Whitby fishing calendar is due to get under way this weekend – and for the first time, is set to last for three weeks.
Whitby Charter Skippers’ Association’s spring angling festival has been extended to run from Saturday (Apr 4) to Sunday April 26.
Organisers will be hoping to reel in the punters with a £1,000 cash prize for the biggest fish in the festival, along with daily cash prizes and junior prizes.
Paul Kilpatrick of WCSA is hopeful the current spell of unsettled weather will pick up, from the northerly winds forecast.
