TEAMS from both Caedmon and Eskdale Schools took part in the annual Scarborough and District School Sports Association gymnastics competition at Pindar School in Scarborough.

After weeks of practising, the girls travelled together one Saturday morning to fly the flag for Whitby.

All of the girls took part in both vault and floor activities, performing their own choreographed one minute routine to music. All of the teams represented their schools and the Whitby area exceptionally well and brought home plenty of medals.

The Eskdale junior team finished third overall in their category with Amy-Kay Pell taking the award for the second highest individual score in the junior section.

In the intermediate section the Caedmon team took gold, winning overall, with Morgann Russell being awarded third place for her individual score.

The Eskdale intermediate team continued Whitby’s medal-winning streak finishing in second place.

Caroline Watson from Caedmon/Eskdale School coaches all of the teams involved and would like to thank all of the girls and other PE staff involved for all of their hard work, both on the day and also in the run-up to the competition, the triumph was certainly a team effort.
