MICKLEBY racehorse Coeur Du Lion added another win to her name when winning the Mark Johnston Racing-sponsored Retrained Racehorse Class at the North Yorkshire County Show near Northallerton.

Affectionately known as Frenchie and owned by Liz Kettle of Mickleby near Whitby, she was ridden by Susan Perkins of Redcar to win comfortably against ex racehorses from all over the north east.

She won a very large bowl for her efforts.

Coeur Du Lion has been retrained to many new disciplines including British eventing, dressage, working hunter, riding horse and side saddle since her racing career, in which she raced six times before her career change, which she is enjoying immensely.

Earlier at the show, she was well placed in a strong side saddle class.

Coeur Du Lion will continue to contest retrained racehorse classes this summer before going to Buckinghamshire to take part in the National Side Saddle Championships in August.
