Whitby Motocross Club will be kick starting the 2013 Club Championship on Sunday (21 April).
This will be the first of a four round race series, with 12 May, 7 July and Bank Holiday Monday, 26 August, making up the other three.
The famous Whitby track, mainly designed by former GP rider James Noble, is home to all the club rounds and also hosts rounds of the British Masters and The Red Bull Pro’ Nationals.
Club secretary Paul Manton said: “The preparation of the track is exactly the same for the club rounds as for the nationals and we have a sprinkler system to water the entire track when it’s dry and dusty.
“Although the venue is well drained we just need someone to invent a system to send the rain back into the clouds in the event of a deluge.
“There are no major changes to the track for 2013 - rather It has been refined in a few areas and should prove, as always, to be a crowd pleaser and an exciting ride for the competitor.
“It is an easy venue to find as it is situated just out of Whitby, yards from the A171, the main road from Whitby to Teesside.
“It can be seen from the road and is always well signed.
“Many spectators take advantage of the close proximity of Whitby’s tourist attractions and drop half the family in the town or on the beach for the day, while the other half have an exciting day watching the racing.”
