TWO world champions are backing the Kids Karting for a Fiver half-term offer which resumes at the Teesside Autodrome off South Bank Road, Middlesbrough between Monday and Thursday.

This Motor Sport Association promotion was launched nationally by Lewis Hamilton MBE, a former British cadet karting champion on his route to Formula One stardom.

At regional level Gary Havelock, captain of the Redcar Bears speedway team, whose racing oval is adjacent to the karting venue, said what an outstanding facility it is and how much youngsters enjoy it.

“My younger daughter Erin has enjoyed some racing parties with her friends on what is the UK’s largest circuit and I think this scheme is excellent,” said Gary.

The activity will be available from 10am to 4pm each day for children aged between eight and 16.

For the fiver, they will receive a briefing from the karting centre’s instructors, full kit and then at least five laps of track time.

Further sessions can be booked at a discount. Parking and refreshments are available on site. To obtain further details and book a place, call Teesside Karting on (01642) 231117.
