THE first day of the ladies’ season at Whitby Golf Club started with captain Karen Marshall having her drive-in.

Sue Dryden was the winner for guessing how far Karen had driven.

This was followed by a nine hole stableford competition and then a light lunch was had when the captain welcomed the ladies and wished them all a good golfing year.

The April medal was played on an extremely blustery day with the scores reflecting the conditions.

On the social side of the ladies section, the past captain’s dinner was held in the club house which was well attended.

A bridge drive was organised by Jennifer Ratcliffe in aid of funds and finally a fashion show put on at the club by Spantons.
