WHITBY Golf Club ladies’ captain Sheena Hamilton welcomed 26 members to the Annual General Meeting of the ladies section of the club.
She said she had had a wonderful year and had enjoyed so many events but the best of all had been her Captain’s Day which was blessed by good weather.
Several handicaps had been reduced. She also thanked her committee for all the hard work they had done over the year.
Sheila Smith was presented with the LGU Breakthrough broach as the winner of the September medal.
Mrs A Ing won the EWGA medal. Barbara Knaggs won the Birdie Tree with Doreen Richardson the runner-up.
The Par Ladder was won by Wendy Hurworth with runner-up Kath Walker.
Sheena then presented Karen Marshall, the incoming captain, with her badge and wished her well for the coming year.
Karen welcomed everyone after thanking Sheena for her hard work during her year.
She hoped her fellow ladies would have a good golf year. She then invited the members to have afternoon tea with her.
The new committee is: Captain Karen Marshall, vice-captain J Ratcliffe and past captain S Hamilton, hon secretary A Ing, hon treasurer B Knaggs, handicap secretary K Cooling; committee D Richardson, M Mackenzie, S Bastiman and J Wightman.
