STUDENTS from 12 schools visited Caedmon for the key step two gymnastics competition.

The children skipped, cartwheeled and rolled to success as they all did really well.

Everyone was extremely well behaved and made lots of progress throughout the day.

The children were amazed by the performance of Caedmon pupil Megan Coates, an Olympic hopeful gymnast.

The visitors thoroughly enjoyed the event, with pupils from Sleights, Danby, East Whitby, West Cliff, Castleton, Glaisdale, Stakesby, Egton, Goathland, Fylingdales, Lythe and Ruswarp primaries taking part.

The title for the small schools was eventually taken by a joint team from Castleton and Glaisdale Schools, closely followed by Goathland then Egton. For the large schools, West Cliff came out on top, then Stakesby and Sleights.

The highest individual score overall went to Sophie from Egton School.

Report by Emmy Ford, Year nine Caedmon Leader.
