Robbie Hurworth and Stephen Crowther were the star performers as Whitby 2nds claimed a five-wicket win at Wolviston 2nds in the NYSD League third division on Saturday.
Stephen Crowther's 6-25 off 13 overs ripped the heart out of the home batting line-up, with only a dogged 57 not out from number eight batsman Paul Adamson ensuring they reached three figures, eventually being all out for 128 from 41.5 overs.
Alfie Swales also chipped in with 2-34 while there was a wicket apiece for Joe Crowther and Andrew Marshall.
In reply, opener Hurworth paved the way for the win with a superb 77, which included nine fours, while Joe Crowther's 17 also helped Whitby to victory.
Fin Morris' five-wicket haul failed to steer Whitby's first-team to victory against Richmondshire 2nds at the Turnbull Ground.
Morris snapped up 5-14 in seven overs and Will Donald 4-28 from 15 overs as the visitors reached 109-9 from 38 overs in reply to Whitby's 141-8.
The hosts had Donald (23), Ron Lyth (34) and Paul Buck (43no) to thank for a reasonable total from their 50 overs, a ninth-wicket unbroken stand of 41 between Buck and number 10 batsman Rikki Lawrence (10no) proved to be crucial.
The visitors struggled in reply and only a patient unbeaten 51 from opener Mike Fleming off 115 balls, and 33 off 33 balls from Joe Shields, helped them deny Whitby.
