ANGLERS enjoyed a lighter match on Sunday with the onset of British summer time, as the sun did not set until 8pm.
Long distance, intermittent northerly swell and a gentle south westerly breeze, saw a good turnout of anglers eagerly anticipating a good bag of fish to finish off the season with a flurry.
James Verrill did just that and was man of the match with a bag of 7 lb 10 oz.
Total weigh-in: 16 lb 03 oz.
Results: 1st James Verrill 4 codling for 7 lb 10 oz, 2nd Andrew Cass 2 codling for 4 lb 07 oz, 3rd Brian Harland 1 codling for 2 lb 12 oz, 4th Colin Stainthorpe 1 rockling for 07 oz, 5th Peter Horbury 1 rockling for 06 oz, 6th Rob Allison 1 rockling for 05 oz, 7th Dave Perrett 1 rockling for 04 oz.
Andrew Cass moved up two places to 7th, pushing both Colin Stainthorpe and Mike Vasey down the leaderboard.
With Denis Thompson failing to weigh in, Brian Harland has moved to within 3 lb 01 oz of the title.
Only the top eight receive a trophy.
