Whitby gymnast Megan Coates impressed at the European Championships, representing Great Britain at the event in Maribor, Slovenia.
The 17-year-old trains and competes at the Scarborough Gymnastics Academy, and travelled to Slovenia with four of her clubmates and coach Nikii Walker.
Coates was the last of the Scarborough Academy contingent to compete at the championships.
She was a member of the senior women’s team who managed to break the record for the highest tumble score for a British team in this section on the new code.
The senior women’s team came sixth in the final.
Coach Walker said: “I’m still pinching myself, it was a fantastic experience.”
