Cup tie Maroons’ toughest test yet

THIS Saturday (13 Oct) sees Whitby Rugby Club’s 1st XV travel to Leeds to take on Yorkshire division four side Old Grovians in the preliminary round of the Yorkshire Trophy.

This will be the Maroons’ hardest game of the season so far - they are without six regulars due to holidays, work and college commitments.

Old Grovians sit second in their league, having won all five games scoring an impressive 164 points.

It will be a stern test to Whitby’s four-match unbeaten run.

Whitby’s second string, the Harlequins, have a home game against a touring side with a 3pm kick-off.

Anyone available should contact the club on (01947) 602008.
