Course hosts big racing programme

REDCAR racecourse stages a seven-race programme on Monday (9 May), when racing is scheduled to begin at 2.20pm with a contest for maiden two-year-olds.

Three-year-olds take part in the The Racing UK On Channel 432 Handicap Stakes over nine furlongs, while the same age group is catered for in the third qualifying race in The John Smith’s Redcar Straight-Mile Championship Series, a popular handicap series at the seaside racecourse which culminates in a Final on 1 October.

Buzz Law (trained at Middleham by Elaine Burke) and Aquarian Spirit (trained at Malton by Richard Fahey) are the respective winners of the two previous qualifying races so far this season.

The Redcar racecourse wedding and conference venue handicap stakes is contested over seven furlongs.

The big screen, situated opposite the main stands, will enable race-goers to follow all of the action on the track.
