An Arabian stallion from Whitby competed at two different shows on the same day – and won every class he was entered into.

Psyrios Contender MWA, known as Connor at home, went to Hambleton District Show and won the Arab in hand four-year-old over class, then went on to take the Arab Championship.

Owner Lisa Smith then travelled him the half hour journey to the wonderful parkland setting of Newby Hall near Boroughbridge, which was hosting Yorkshire Game Fair.

Connor contested three classes – and won them all.

A delighted Lisa told the Whitby Gazette: “It’s quite unusual to do two shows on the same day and it’s the first time we’ve attempted it.

“It was a long day, getting up at 4am and being in the ring at 8am at the first show but it was a fabulous day.

“We were thrilled with Connor’s performance.

“It was his first outing of the season and he was a bit of a handful at Hambleton but he settled lovely at the Game Fair and moved extremely well.

“We are now looking forward to the rest of the show season and excited to see his next crop of foals due next year, especially as a two-year- old filly by Psyrios Contender has just been sold to Kuwait.”
