Andy Chilton from Whitby scored a great win first time out on the new works Beta at Scarborough and District Motorcycle Club’s Jacky Baxter trial on Sunday.

A tough four lap, ten section course around the old army camp at Harwood Dale tested the best, but Chilton’s experience in contesting British and World Championship rounds this last year helped dramatically.

Although “a little rusty” on the first lap, he settled to rattle off consistent lap scores that kept strong riding Richmond visitor Rob Waite in runner-up berth.

Kirkbymoorside’s Dan Peace had a torrid first lap – a couple of uncharacteristic fives on section five and ten doing the damage, but he recovered well to finish third.

Mike Noble, also from Whitby, put a great ride together to finish third in a strong Clubman A class behind the experienced Scarborough duo of Mark Taylor and Andy Lockwood.

The Eboracum lads, Bryan Kendra and John Stones had a great battle in Clubman B, with Kendra getting the verdict by four marks.

The battling Dave Wardell finished third after losing a scrappy three on the seventh where Kendra and Stones cleaned.
