Despite challenging weather conditions this week, Scaling Dam returned an excellent rod average of over four fish per angler as the recent great sport continues.

George Houston from Guisborough kicked off a fantastic Bank Holiday Monday on his ‘Loyalty Day’ catching his ten fish limit including the biggest fish of the season; a lovely 6lb rainbow caught on Green/Yellow PowerBait Paste from the jetty.

Alan Ellison from Whitby took his ‘Loyalty Day’ limit from the margins of the east end moor side on Yellow Gulp Eggs tipped with worm with all this action occurring before a bumper stocking of 1,300 fish Thursday.

Chris Fall from Richmond had a fantastic first-ever visit to Scaling and in a frantic two hours, had his eight fish limit with a total weight of 17lb 8oz from the east end of the Dam Wall all caught on Orange Mice Tails.

Andrew Bogan continued his excellent season catching 21 fish on a Yellow Dancer and returning 13 with his sister Katie taking eight on PowerBait Mice Tails.

Jordan Smurthwaite from Whitby hit the east end bay on a new Catch and Release ticket and caught 13 on a Cat’s Whisker and Orange/Green Fritz.

A total of 1,300 fish have just stocked with many fish between 6lb – 8lb still to be caught.
