Fylingdales CC lost out to Bridlington 2nds in the Division Two T20 Cayley Cup final.
Batting first in the showpiece at Scarborough’s North Marine Road ground, Dales lost early wickets to slip to 20-2.
Chris Shrimpton led the recovery, top scoring with a knock of 40 that included five fours and one six.
There were also contributions from Mark Estill and Guy Shrimpton that took Barry Heyes’ side past the 100 mark before Carl Parkin (3-21) dismissed all three batsmen.
Ben Ibbotson (3-7) then mopped up the tail with five balls remaining, Dales eventually all out for 133.
Left-arm paceman Estill then struck in the first over of Brid’s reply, removing the dangerous Andrew Clay lbw without scoring.
An astonishing piece of boundary fielding from Chris Shrimpton accounted for Greg Miller, also for a duck, his throw hitting the stumps from the rope on the longest boundary on the field to leave Brid 15-2.
Brid’s Matty Clay was joined at the crease by Steve Lount and the pair steadied things before going on the attack.
Clay was the aggressor, with left-hander Lount happy to play second fiddle and Clay soon reached his fifty and never looked back.
The pair registered a superb century partnership, and despite Dales’ best efforts, the East Yorkshiremen cruised home.
Player of the match Clay finished unbeaten on a fabulous 89, while Lount chipped in with 29 not out as Brid romped home in 16.5 overs, sealing an eight-wicket triumph.
