The centre-back is in his second spell at the club, but he has been popular on both stints with the Seasiders.

His big day was made even better as his side claimed a 3-1 victory against Mickleover Sports at the Don Amott Arena.

“I’m over the moon,” White revealed post-match.

“It’s good to play 150 games for any football club but this team is close to my heart and Whitby is the best club I’ve played for.

“It’s a great day for me and hopefully I can make many more appearances for the club in my time here as well.”

The defender was delighted that the Seasiders could turn it into a winning afternoon as well, after a largely convincing all-round performance.

Despite falling behind, the Blues reacted well and ended up taking a comfortable three points on the road

“It was a great win,” White said.

“I couldn’t ask for more than three points in a 3-1 win on my 150th appearance but it’s all because there’s a lot of belief in the changing room at the moment.

“There’s a lot of confidence around and the lads are working really hard on and off the pitch so our hard work is starting to pay off. The team got it tactically perfect.”

White felt that a key example of the team spirit was shown in Whitby’s first goal when a neat passing move got the Blues level.

He feels that these kinds of attacking moves come naturally to some players within the Whitby side, hence why it paid off.

“Those sort of moves come naturally to some players,” the defender admitted.

“You expect your attacking players to give you that sort of quality and they do that as they’re excellent at it.

“For our second goal we also saw a good connection between Matty Tymon and Paul Blackett. It was another excellent goal.”
