Whitby Town’s New Year’s Day fixture at home to Blyth Spartans has been brought forward four days due to the Northumbrian club’s FA Cup heroics.

Spartans caused a sensation when they defeated League Two Hartlepool on Friday night, winning through to the third round proper of the competition, which is being played over the first weekend of 2015.

This means Whitby’s clash with Blyth - usually a good crowd-puller - will now be played on Sunday December 28, when the Blues were scheduled to go to Buxton.

There is a dominoes drive in the Whitby Town clubhouse this Friday (Dec 12), 8pm start,

A supporters’ bus for this Saturday’s trip to Skelmersdale will leave the clubhouse at 9am,
