WHITBY Town’s pointless start to the season continued after they were edged out in a seven-goal thriller at AFC Fylde.
Although the Lancastrians took an early lead, the Blues hit back with two quick goals from Graeme Armstrong and Kev Burgess - all inside the first eight minutes.
Fylde levelled before the break and then went back in front at 3-2 before defender Alex White hauled Whitby level.
However, they were denied a point as Fylde’s Jack Dorney netted his hat-trick goal - and the winner, leaving the Blues second from bottom of the EvoStik League Premier Division with five defeats from five.
Eastwood Town are below them on goal difference.
* This Wednesday, Whitby have a chance to kickstart their season when they host FC United of Manchester in a game which could attract a large crowd.
The pair met last month with Bury-based side again edging out Darren Williams’ lads, 3-2, with Nathan Mulligan netting both Blues goals.
