A Whitby Town star of the past was given the red carpet treatment on Saturday when he was guest of honour for the club’s home game with Buxton.
Norman Sturman, who played for the Blues in the 1956-57 in the same team as Brian Clough’s brother Des.
Norman, who celebrates his 80th birthday tomorrow (Tues), has always followed Whitby as he was brought up in nearby Hinderwell.
He thoroughly enjoyed his day, despite the Blues losing out 1-0 to a late goal against their high-flying Derbyshire opponents.
He is pictured above meeting current player / manager Darren Williams.
