Fishburn Park recorded their first win of the season in the preliminary round of the North Riding Senior Cup, against high-fliers Redcar Newmarket.
Fishburn pressed from the off and looked a better side than their lowly position in the Teesside League first division suggested.
Redcar crept into the game and only a fine save by keeper Noble kept his side level.
Fishburn broke the deadlock after 34 minutes when the hard-working Faichney looked to be chasing a lost cause towards the corner flag but after controlling the ball, he sent in a pinpoint cross for team-mate Dom Wilson to head powerfully home.
The score remained 1-0 but nine minutes into the second half, the home side doubled their lead.
Great work down the left between Faichney and Organ-Simpson resulted in the latter’s cross being stroked home by the alert Pike.
Redcar made it a nervous 10 minutes for Park.
As they pressed forward, they were awarded a free-kick 30 yards from goal and Hodgson struck an unstoppable shot round the Fishburn wall into the top corner.
The visitors sensed they could force a late equaliser and attacked in numbers but a resolute Park defence held out.
